updated levels

There's a few things we're all monitoring closely.

LUNGS
Hyatt was on pure oxygen at first.....her lack of working lung material needed this in order to keep her blood-oxygen level at a maximum. Throughout the afternoon on Thursday they were able to slowly lower this level to 65% oxygen in the respirator and still maintain maximum blood oxygen. regular air is something like 22% oxygen, so we're getting closer.

A lung xray late Thursday shows less "gunk" in the lung than the previous one, so that's a good sign that the lungs are getting more and more viable space.

The fact that her breathing rate has remained stable tells the lung specialist that there's not likely a problem with a hole in the lung...that the air bubble was hopefully a one-time thing that Hyatt's body will dissolve.

HEART
late Thursday she was still on medication to keep her blood pressure elevated, but he level has remained steady and her pulse rate has been around 120...which is what they expect with the elevated pressure (it's over 150 when she woke up and got agitated)

BRAIN
We can't know much more about her neurological function until Hyatt is up and awake more. right now, they want to have her get as much sleep as possible to continue the healing process. The fact that she woke up twice during the day though was a WONDERFUL sign. we really don't know much of anything about potential damage to her mind, but this cuts off some of the really bad potential scenarios.
