Patricia and I are driving back to North Carolina this evening; we haven't seen our kids in over a week, and it feels like a lot longer. That's them above (we leave them at home in that blue cooler when we go on trips).
I'm also hoping I still have a job when I show up for work tomorrow -- sounds like the financial services sector had a pretty stressful week too.

The set up at Fairfax gives me confidence that Troy will be able to focus on what he needs to focus on right now: his wife and kids. He has family still living with him here and hundreds of friends helping out in one way or another. This is not going to get easier anytime soon; there is still some very rough sledding ahead over the short and long term, and I'm so thankful Troy has all of you supporting him in so many different ways.
I'm happy to keep passing on information I have, but my updates won't be firsthand and probably not as frequent. Hopefully someone here can do some of the heavy lifting on this website; I think there's still one or two left standing (read: not on heavy narcotic pain-killers).
Troy, call me when you need me and I'll jump in the car.

Pete,
Thank you for an awesome job with the updates. Don't worry about the day job in the financial sector, you can always get a job as a writer. You have allowed us to laugh with our tears through your writing. Go home and hug your cutie patuties..hard!

Drive safe, and thank you for your constant information. Hyatt's story was passed to me by a friend in the Bristow mom's group several days ago. Your entire family has been in my thoughts and prayers as well as several prayer groups in the local area. Miracles do happen and I hope Hyatt will receive hers soon.
Sincerely,

Great job, Pete!
Yes, you and Patricia do need to go home to your precious children. Thankfully, your brother is blessed by a devoted family and many friends who will help him get through this awful time in all of your lives.
God bless you.

Pete - I agree with the previous poster that you could get a job in writing should you decide you no longer wish to be a numbers whiz. Alex & Hannah look super cute and I'm sure really miss you guys. Glad in a situation like this that Troy has such a supportive family. I try to stay updated and pray for Hyatt and family all the time, so am hoping the updates keep coming. - Janelle Urioste
My name is Fran and I just happened upon your site. I want to give you a website to check out that gives you the ability to post updates on and friends and family can put in their email address and when an update is made, they will receive notification. It also gives family and friends the ability to leave comments in the guestbook. A good friend of mine has a son on life support and they have this set up and it has been wonderful. It is called Caring Bridge. http://www.caringbridge.org/about
My heart is heavy after reading your story and I will certainly pray for Hyatt and her family. God Bless.

Pete,
You are an inspiration and Troy is lucky to have you. WE have all been lucky to have you walking us through all of this.
Rest assured that we will all take care of Troy and the family while you are gone but we hope to see you back up here soon.
Thank you from the bottom of ALL of our hearts for your profound efforts.
Much Love,
Margaret, Rich, Jamie and Lindsey Asbell
Greetings from Minnesota-
Just wanted to let you know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. It seems like just a short time ago your mom and I were college roommates. Even though we don't see each other often these days, when we get together we talk a bit about the old days and a lot about our children and how awesome they are and how blessed we are. And of course, now we talk about the most-beautiful-babies-in- the -world---our grandchildren! Keep taking care of each other as I know you have been doing and look for the small blessings every day-
Our love to you and prayers for Hyatt and all of you.
Love,
Cheryl and Roy Colbert
Pete,
Thank you so much for doing a wonderful job keeping everyone posted! Troy is very lucky to have you. Safe journey home.
What a big job you've done. Hope all is well when you get back home. Hugs and kisses to the kids. sm
Pete - thank you so much for everything you've done to keep us all so well informed and to link us and our hopes and best wishes into the family.
Safe travels from all of Hyatt's friends and former colleagues at EPA

Pete,
You are a wonderful human being. Troy and the entire family are lucky to have you in their lives. You could be a writer, or perhaps a stand up comedian. You made me laugh out loud through times of tears. Go home and enjoy those kids.
I live in Bristow with my husband and 2 small boys. I have passed your blog onto many and you and the entire family in our prayers.
I know that everyone on the prayer chain at Old Dominion Baptist is praying hard for you all. May God comfort and guide you in your time of need.
Pete,
You have done a marvelous job of keeping us updated with everything that has happened since September 11th. Only God knows why this terrible thing happened to such a lovely young lady. I know Hyatt only from Curves, but her gentleness was obvious even after speaking with her just a few times.
Hyatt and Troy are truly blessed to have had you and your wife by their side as well as the rest of their loving family and friends.
She is constantly in my prayers and I've passed your blog on to others I know who have a deep faith and love of God and I can only hope that he hears every single one of us loud and clear:
God, we turn to you in this time of illness. Dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate the Nolan family of worry and sorrow with Your gentle love, and grant them the grace and strength to accept this burden.
Oh God Our Father,
we place our concerns in Your hands. Hear the prayers we offer for Hyatt as well as Troy, Sydney, Rebekah and their family and grant them the gift of healing. Grant us the grace to acknowledge Your holy Will and know that whatsoever You do, You do for the love of us. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen.
