Troy has decided to move Hyatt to Inova Fairfax Hospital -- a larger tertiary care center a bit further away from his house. There are a lot of reasons for the move not worth going into here, but Troy and the family on both sides are very supportive and comfortable with the move.
Being at Prince William initially was definitely the best choice for Hyatt while she was there, and we appreciate the many friends we made there, as well as the care and concern from many of the doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff. THANK YOU!!!
This was a difficult decision, and it took a good deal of effort over the last 36 hours on the parts of Troy, myself, and his trusted friend Kent to make this happen. It's difficult for Troy to convince himself that any decision he makes is the right one, because he knows he's in daze and not convinced his thoughts are rational about anything (they are by the way -- it's astounding). If this horrible situation had happened to Patricia, I would absolutely make the decision to move her.
Patricia and I will be headed out shortly to drive Troy up to Fairfax, to meet Hyatt up there and figure out the situation. Could be a late night.

Hi, Troy and Pete--
Greetings from Minnesota. Just wanted you to know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. I don't know where the years have gone since your mom and I were college roommates! Even tho' we don't see each other often, we enjoy catching up. Sometimes we talk about the "old" days but mostly about our kids and the most beautiful babies in the world-- our grandkids:-)
Again-- our prayers are with you and for Hyatt, as well as those of some of our friends.
Take care of each othere as I know you have been.
Love,
Cheryl and Roy Colbert
Thank you so much for all of the updates. You would be astounded at the number of people this blog has reached and in turn the number of prayers for your family.
Hi!
You don't know me. I was forwarded your blog address in an online community by a neighbor of yours. I have sat and read and cried through your updates for the past hour.
Please know that many are praying for your family - many more than you can imagine. Our Heavenly Father is wise and generous - I hope you feel his healing hands.
Dear Pete,
Thank you for always taking the time to keep everyone posted as to Hyatt's condition and as to how the rest of the family is doing. I know that it cannot be an easy task to sum up in a few paragraphs what has happened from day to day during this emotional roller coaster, but we appreciate your efforts just the same.
Keep strong and I think you're doing an amazing job being strong for your brother. He is lucky to have you all.
Love,
The Ferrier Family
Troy and Pete,
You do not know me but my friend Jenn Gentry lives down the street from you. I am praying daily for Hyatt and your family. I live in the Centreville area and since I read your blog about moving Hyatt I would like to offer my extra bedroom to anyone who needs to stop in between Fairfax and Bristow. I am located right off of 66 and 29. If you need this or are interested please contact me at margiesieg@yahoo.com and I will give you my phone number.
Troy,
Hope and heartbreak, love and prayers from us up here in Michigan. We think of you and pray for you and Hyatt constantly.
Love,
sue and scott ij
Pete: Given the added distance that everyone will be traveling to the Fairfax hospital, I just wanted to let you know that we have a guest room available in Burke (approx. 5 miles from the hospital), if anyone needs it. Frederic will be on a business trip for several weeks so it's just me and Mikaela. We would be happy to accommodate members to ensure that no one is driving long distances in the middle of the night. Just a thought. --Lea (703-953-6082)
A bigger hospital ranked top in the nation is a very good choice. We hope and pray each day that this situation resolves itself and the family pieces can be put back together again. A prayer has been said in our home..which usually doesn't get a lot of prayers said and they are all for the health of Hyatt and your entire family and friends..may god grant the miracle and wishes we are all praying for!
Sending love your way!!!
Hi,
I am a member of BMAK here is Bristow and like the other 160 Moms in this club, I am glued to this blog, checking for updates multiple times a day. Please know that there are MANY, MANY people at Holy Trinity and all over that I have asked to pray for Hyatt. I knew Tom Vander Woude (whose family and son, the priest, you met at the hospital) and know that even in the midst of their own tragedy, they are praying for Hyatt too.
Miracles happen, have faith, God will lead you to the right decisions.
Susan Loving
Dear Troy and Family,
My friend just forwarded me a link to your blog, and has asked me to pray for Hyatt and your family. I am doing just that. And I have asked friends to also pray for all of you. I live in Bristow/Sheffield Manor, and as I read the blog from the beginning and saw Hyatt's picture, I realized that I have met her somewhere here in the area. I recognize her. There are no words.
But...
Miracles happen everyday!!! All around us. Never give up hope. Believe and if you have faith the size of a mustard seed...it will be given to you according to God's will. I know from personal experience. My Dad's heart actually stopped when he was 43 years old for three minutes, he had a massive heart attack, had eight children at home, and he lived until he was 79 years old. He had 15 grandchildren by the time he did pass on. He saw Heaven during that time he was "asleep" at 43, and told us all he would never be afraid to die. God is holding Hyatt so close. I am praying for that miracle for her. Know that so many people are keeping you close to their hearts and praying especially for Hyatt's complete healing and restoration.
Many hugs to you and your family and to all of Hyatt's friends,
Madeline O'Neal
Troy,
We find ourselves looking to this blog many times each day for Hyatt's condition and continue to be amazed by your strength through all of this. Sidney and Rebekah could not have picked a better Dad nor Hyatt a better husband and friend.
Know that your strength is an inspiration to others near and far.
Love,
Uncle Vince, Aunt Debbie, Matt, Bryan, Sean and Laura
Troy, Pete and Family
As you know, we are praying hard for Hyatt, Troy, Sidney, Rebekah and all of the family. If there is anything we can do to help, please let us know.
John, Deb and Melissa Caskey
Peter,
We wanted to wish you all the blessings of The Heavenly Father on this, your birthday, as you continue to be there for Troy and the kids as well as providing a conduit for all of us about Hyatt, Troy, Sidney and Rebekah.
Love,
Uncle Vince & Aunt Debbie
Troy,
I had to include another comment here even though you do not know me. I just emailed all of my friends about Hyatt and your family, and I have already gotten back MANY responses from these same people (within 5 minutes of doing so), and they KNOW Hyatt. That is a true testimony to the many lives that Hyatt has touched here in this area. She must be an AWESOME person and wife and mother!!! It also is a divine sign from God that hundreds and hundreds of people are praying for all of you, and that God is truly at work on Hyatt. May God bless all of you and keep you in His loving care.
Madeline O'Neal
My sincere prayers are with Hyatt, Troy, Sidney and Rebekah and the rest of the family. I have read every eloquent word of Pete's blog and have been crying and praying the past hour. Hyatt Ford, as I knew her through middle school and high school, was the most graceful, intelligent, mature and warm-hearted person I knew in Greensboro. Her loyalty and love towards my twin sister Swati and me got us through many difficult times. I am sad that we fell out of touch, but over the past 17 years since graduating from high school, I have thought of her with great fondness. She is truly a beautiful and special person. When I find some photos of our youth, I will send them on.
May God Bless you, Hyatt. I have added you and your family to an international prayer list. Know that you are in my thoughts and in my heart. Healing is on its way, and as many have asserted, miracles are already happening while many more are to come. Much love to you, dear old friend. --Jyoti Argade
