We had a tough church service; the whole congregation was in tears. It's a very small church and they're all close friends, so they've all been following Hyatt's health. Troy got up for one song and sung with the choir. I have no idea how he did it, but he did. The last time I saw someone sing when they should have been crying their eyes out was when Hyatt sung "The Rose" to Troy at their wedding reception. As someone who probably could not sing within 12 hours of watching Old Yeller, I find their strength incredible.
We came home for lunch, but got a call from Hyatt's doctor telling of her potentially deteriorating brain stem functions -- she was running a high fever and had been laboring much more in her breathing. So, we all rushed down to the hospital instead. All the extended family and many of her group of best friends. They got her temperature under control and gave her a mild sedative, and she's more stable now. 72-96 hours (someone said) is the peak of brain swelling, and it's possible these symptoms were due to that. After the next 12 hours or so, her brain swelling should start to go down and we hope that then the signals and responses the doctors see from her will provide more clarity.
Patricia and I came back to the house to care for and play with Sid and Bekah -- the neighbors had come over on a minutes notice so that anyone that wanted could rush to see Hyatt, so we relived them.

Pete, I am the preschool director of Sid's school. I sent a short email to Troy to let him know of our prayers for you all, and for Hyatt. We just are struggling to wrap our minds and hearts around such a tragedy as this. I just spoke to Hyatt on Tuesday, Sid's first day of preschool...so full of life, and we spoke of her singing and coming to sing for our preschoolers. From the blog and some of the responses, I see that this couple has a bazillion friends...how wonderful to have so many pray for you. I am just writing to offer up my home to some of the myriad of people that seem to be arriving to be near to Troy and Hyatt. I live about 10 minutes away from them, I would guess...and have 3 unused bedrooms, with bathrooms. I do have a dog, but she is super friendly. If people need a place to lay their heads...I am offering. Please email me at russnlo@aol.com of anyone needs a room, no questions asked, just an open door, and open hearts! Thanks for the blogs Pete, as hard as it is to read and I am sure to write as well, it's important. Thanks, Laurie Frasz
Troy,
I just wanted to let you know that I've been thinking about you, Hyatt, the girls, and everybody non stop since I found out early Thursday morning, and I will continue to keep everybody in my thoughts and prayers.
Pete, Thanks for the blogs and making it so very easy for everybody who is not there to keep up to date!

Troy and everyone,
My family is keeping all of you in are thoughts and prayers. It has been so touching and heartbreaking and humbling to read this news. Sending our love to all of you, Erin Burgess.
I am friends with Jessica Bullock, who went to school w/ Hyatt in Chicago. She sent a link to your blog with request for prayers yesterday (Saturday).
It is so hard to know what to pray, but I am praying for God's mercy on Hyatt and your whole family. I woke up twice in the night last night and prayed for you all.
peace be with you,
aimee fritz
We have been praying for Hyatt since having heard the tragic news.
We have asked our friends and families to pray for Hyatt's recovery, as well, and for Troy's continued strength. He has shown remarkable courage.
If you need anything - at any time - please know you can count on us.
Much love,
James and Christine

Troy,
Just thought I would share something with you. Your 8 year old cousin, Laura, brought her CCD class to a halt when she told the teacher about Hyatt. The result was that the class immediately prayed in unison for Hyatt's recovery. Her brother, Sean, also told his 7th grade CCD class tonight and they stopped and prayed for Hyatt before class.
The teacher told Sean that he already knew and that prayers are being said for Hyatt and your family throughout the parish.
Love,
Uncle Vinny and Aunt Debbie
Troy, our thoughts, prayers and love are with you and Hyatt and the girls!! As a fellow bass who enjoys singing with you, I can't imagine how you were able to sing at all this morning. We were out of town so I didn't get to see you today. I missed my brief visit with Sidney!! Keep the Faith!!
Troy, Peter, Jennifer, Colleen, Jim, all your family and to Hyatt's family and friends: Bob and I have been praying for Hyatt's recovery from the first moment we heard from Colleen and mutual friend Cheri. And we too sent on the prayer request to half our e-mail addresses. We finally are getting to read the entire blog. It is natural to think of David Haas's "Song of the Body of Christ" and the '93 World Youth Day
song "We are one body"--"We are one body, one body in Christ;
and we do not stand alone.
We are one body, one body in Christ; And He came that we might have life." We pray on this in awe and humility of what God is doing in this. In this difficult time may He give you His Wisdom and His Peace. Love, Bob and Pat Geipel, former neighbors from The Villages
Bev, myself and our sons would like to assure you that our prayers go out to you and all your family during this time of great need. May our loving Father give you the miracle we all hope and pray for. We have thank God every day for 16 years that your parents fostered our oldest son Steven. Through this small miracle we came to know you and your family and have been blessed by that meeting. May God grant you the happiness you deserve with the miracle you need. We have given the church here your name and asked that they prey for your needs also.
There is nothing more powerful than prayer! If there is ever anything you need please feel free to ask. In Gods name it will be done.
In God,
The Adams'
Pete and Troy, I am friends of one of your neighbors, and your story and blog have been heavy on my heart. I have four young kids and a wife whom I love deeply. We prayed for you in children's church, and I gave a prayer request to Third Day tonight at the Music Builds Concert (well not personally, but I hope it got to them). You seem to have a great family. Pete, you're an awesome story-teller. May God bless you, may he keep you, and may his face shine upon you and your family. I'm praying for a miracle.
