The lack of bathrooms in the Critical Care Unit has been frustrating. Troy and I searched the whole place and found exactly two. One was locked and one had a line of people outside it....(a single user bathroom). Late in the day on Thursday, before we drove home for dinner, we were sitting with Hyatt and a tech came by to change the bedpan.
Anyway, he empties the pan and then opens a door in our room and pours it down a toilet. Hyatt's room is about 12x12, with an outside door and another door...which apparently leads to a private bathroom. Right...pretty much just like every hospital room I've been in. As soon as he walked over this bathroom door, Troy and I both looked at each other and immediately realized what morons we are. That's what probably 25 years of combined college education gets you. But, it's nice to have a good laugh sometimes.

I'm very pleased to hear one of the most intelligent men I know (Troy) struggled with his brother for several minutes to find a bathroom while on was practically right in front of them :)
Peter,
It runs in your family. On trip to London some years ago your father landed and taxied to the hotel with his "eyeballs" floating because he could not find a bathroom at the airport --which he thought rather strange. After finally regaining his "composure" in his hotel room he felt rather sheepish relating the story that he had seen a bunch of doors that said "WC" at the airport but did not know what this meant. He quickly learned what a "Water Closet" was. So, do not feel so bad you never had a chance!
