Troy actually ended up getting a ride in Hyatt's ambulance, and Patricia and I met him up there. The transport went perfectly and Hyatt is settled and looks comfortable.
There's nothing different about her prognosis, but Troy is 100% comfortable with the structure at this hospital. The knowledge and caring of the Intensivist we sat down with was very comforting to him, despite him being dead tired. They've arranged to make a couple of exceptions to their ICU rules to handle this unique and heart-breaking case; they're preparing a lounging chair by Hyatt's bedside for Troy to sleep in tonight and will allow visits from Sidney (there's a 'no children under 12' rule).
We left him sound asleep on a very soft, padded couch in the staff relaxation room -- a place family of patients aren't typically permitted....they'll let him move to Hyatt's room once they get the chair set up, if they can wake him up.
It's been another really long day, and it's time for some sleep.

This is so great. I love Fairfax Hospital! I hope you will be as happy with this move as I am that you made it!
Still praying, and will continue till you are ALL at home! Best of luck, best wishes, etc.
pete;
just wanted to say thank you from all the BMAK moms. we're reading your posts multiple times a day because hyatt is one of our own. please get some rest and stay strong for your family.
Pete & Troy,
Thanks for the posts. Sounds like the move went great. This may sound strange in a blog, but I have no other way to get in touch with you right now, but if you need a place to rest, eat, shower, ect. please let me know via email. I have a cousin in Fairfax that would be happy to open up her home to your family. I know with traffic the drive back & forth to Bristow can be long and you all are already very tired. I don't want to give you false hope, but a very dear friend of mine recovered after being in a coma for 15+ days. (Family & friends were told by neurologists and teams of doctors he would not wake up.)
We will conitnue to pray for Hyatt, Troy, the girls and the rest of you family. Please stay strong, keep the faith, and allow Hyatt to rest.

Troy and Family,
Thanks for the posts. Your family is in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. I heard about the event from Brenda to Brook to Jonas. Even through the internet news can travel slowly. While it has been years (too many to count) since those days at NCSU I since have some great memories. The pictures are great and you have a beautifully family. May God bless you and your Family.

I don't know your family at all but we became aware of your situation through our church in Bristow. I just want to let you know that many are praying for you and your entire family. I'm sorry you are having to go through such a hard thing but I pray that in the middle of it you will sense God being with you as you walk this road. You have a beautiful family and I too am praying for a miracle!
Received the email blog site and have past it on to several NCSU Faculty members whofondly remember Hyatt. We are all sending positive Wolfdpack thoughts.

Troy & Family,
As others have noted, prayers are going up all over, and the word is spreading. I've found in sharing t his with others, that miracles happen more regularly than we realize. I'd like to share one with you, that I hope will encourage you greatly.
Some time earlier on the blog, Pete noted that the neurologist and nurse haven't seen recovery from this type of thing. I'd like to rebutt that.
Yesterday on the bus, I spoke with a woman who's co-worker is in a somewhat similar situation. The co-worker's adult daughter was hit and killed by a drunk driver, along with 2 of the 3 children. the 3rd child (about 17) was rushed to hospital. All medical personnel said it was hopeless, that she was in a coma, and brain DEAD. So little hope was given that the family postponed the other 3 funerals, but continued in prayer.
There was no change at all the 1st week I understand. No wakeup, no brain activity, no nothing. Sometime in the 2nd week, she opened her eyes, is aware of family, responds to her name, and squeezes their hands, from BRAIN DEAD!!! Praise God!!!!!
This is not something that happened ages ago. It is my understanding that they are still in the second week, RIGHT NOW, here in Atlanta.
I am praying so hard for Hyatt, as are many others, even complete strangers. We speak LIFE to Hyatt, and pray for a creative miracle for ANYTHING that was damaged when she was without O2! We rebuke any spirit of infirmity and command it to leave her body NOW, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. We also cancel ANY & ALL NEGATIVE WORD CURSES OF DESPAIR spoken over her by the doctors. Father God is THE GREAT PHYSICIAN ........AND WE BELIEVE HIS TOTAL HEALING.....over anything the doctors say........in Jesus' name!!!
Love, yet another person who counts Hyatt as MY best friend, Rhonda (Hunt) Rollins
Pete, what's the new policy on visiting Hyatt in Fairfax Hospital? If it won't bother her or you guys I'd like to come by, but I understand it's not good for her to have a huge flow of people coming in and out. Thanks, Erin (meyer_erin@bah.com)
Troy,
I'm so glad that your initial impressions of Inova Fairfax are favorable. I am absolutely confident that you made a good decision in referring Hyatt there.
I will remain available to you indefinately to answer any and all additional questions to the best of my ability. Day or night--you should NEVER hesitate to call me.
I was so very proud, and felt so profoundly blessed, to sing to Hyatt with you and our other choir members Tuesday evening. I don't recall ever before feeling such a deep and profound sense of love--for Hyatt, for you, for our choir members, and from God. I will never forget it. Thank you.
Although I've returned to New Hampshire to my own family and to my work, my heart remains very firmly there with you. May God bless you and keep you and your family in his warm and comforting embrace.

My neighbor sent me your blog. I am a physical therapist who used to work at Fairfax Hospital and I now live in Haymarket. I can honestly say she will get good rehab at FFx and they will be helpful in determining where she needs to go for longer term rehab. If you should need any support or help let me know.
