Thank You for the Prayers

Thank you to all who participated (worldwide) in the prayer vigil Saturday. It was a special day for me as it highlighted the best mankind has to offer. The church was crowded by well-wishers and the spirits of all those praying for Hyatt and her family. I am confidant that Hyatt would be as touched as I was.

Many kind prayers were offered. Troy led us in praying the Rosary. Mary Alice led us in singing Hyatt’s favorite songs. It was extremely difficult for me to sing along to Amazing Grace as someone in the audience was singing harmony beautifully and I could not help but think of Hyatt – she could make any song beautiful, even happy birthday.

Someone brought the most delicious cupcakes. I was asked if Casey (3) could have one. After an hour of being quiet as a little church mouse, I would have given him just about whatever he wanted. We briefed him before the service that the people may be sad. He reached up during the service and quietly said, “It’s ok to be sad daddy.”

What a nice event. Thank you to all!

Allen

Allen, thank you--your updates mean so much to those of us who check several times a day for news and connection. I am praying hard for Hyatt and her family.

Thank you for sharing with those of us who live far away. It was moving to here about the service. Our church prayer group, First Congregational Church of Moline, Illinois, is praying for Hyatt, and the family.

Allen, Casey is an adorable little angel. I will always remember him after the prayer vigil standing in the dappled sunshine by the grotto at St Mary's looking at the statue of St. Bernadette. I was so happy to meet the chief blogger at last. Thank you for keeping us informed and for your priceless friendship to Troy and Hyatt whom we all love so much. Liz Byrne

Troy-my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this painful time. I do not know you - I was given this link to your blog by a friend who got it from a friend etc., etc., I guess the point is - there are many people out there praying and pulling for Hyatt's recovery. Many who do not know her personally but like me, who have been touched by her story. I will subscribe to your posts to gather updates as I have spent the last 2 hours reading her story. Stay strong and have faith! Miracles do happen!

Pete - thanks for the earlier posts your writing was brillant and I know you needed to return to your kids and life but wanted to thank you for the earlier updates.

Allen - thanks for continuing the posts - I appreciate the time and effort you put into giving us the updates.

Lots of love, kisses & hugs
~Wendy

Troy, Hyatt, Pete, Allen..and all of Hyatt's family...

We continue to pray for you...and praying for Hyatt's recovery. Miracles really do happen!! Praying for Sid and Bekah...I know they miss their wonderful Mommy so much.

Allen, thank you for the updates. You are wonderful!

Troy, try to take extra care of yourself....eating, drinking, getting some sleep. I know so much easier said than done...But you are going through so much right now that you need to keep you going too. It's wonderful that you have a nice support network in place.

In our thoughts and prayers....

It's been so difficult, and so heartwarming both , to read this. We lost our daughter at age 31, of an enlarged heart--we didn't know it was enlarged, and we don't know how long it was before she died. She died in her sleep, and tomorrow would be her 42nd birthday. Our grandson was 7, and he found her when he woke up. He was with her for several hours before his dad came home. I hope people will teach their young children to dial 911 as early as they can teach thm!

I pray that Hyatt makes it and that your family will stay strong...your faith is wonderful.
