Patricia, Jane, and I stayed with Sidney and Bekah last night.
Sidney is in her normal routine. She knows mommy is sick and at the hospital getting better, and she's making sure she prays for Mommy to get better fast.
Bekah is having to make an adjustment cold-turkey from breast milk to formula. Mary Alice did a wonderful job of managing this yesterday. Bekah was protesting this pretty hard last night, but mostly she was upset. She's used to having her Mommy around at night to put her to bed, so it was tough. She got to bed around 11:30pm (45 minutes later than usual, from the log Hyatt keeps), but slept like a log until almost 9:30 this morning....and GUZZLED down her formula this morning.
Troy called early this morning from the hospital with another update. He got some sleep, and Hyatt got a lot. They have her down to 50% oxygen on the respirator, and she's still holding the blood-oxygen content at max.....so still some signs of improvement
The Attending Doc should be speaking to him this morning, and I'll try to get that story from Troy as soon as I can.

Ok I am a friend of a friend here, and just found out about what is going on. SERIOUS question, I know Hyatt is medicated and all, but has the family discussed the ability to express her breast milk so that the Baby can still 'nurse'.
There is a special bond between mother and child while nursing and I'm told it makes both healthier. This is just a thought, and no I am really not a nut job. Much love, prayers, and support to you all

I know of Hyatt through the Music Ministry at St Mary's. Since I heard what has happened, she and the family has been in my prayers. One of my early thoughts was, "Is the baby nursing." Now knowing that she is a nursing baby, my prayers include the special adjustements that Rebekah must make.
